Our Story
Clinical Cardio Diabetic Society of India (CCDSI) was established on 14th November 2016 at a meeting of API, CSI, and RSSDI members from Bihar on World Diabetic Day. It aims to update clinicians on newer developments in diagnosis and management in the fields of Cardiology, Diabetes, Hypertension, Nephrology, and Metabolic diseases by holding regular CMEs, Screening Camps and Annual conferences.
CCDSI had its 1st National Conference at Sundar Ban in September 2017, 2nd at Mount Abu in October 2018, 3rd at Chennai in September 2019. The 4th National conference was held as a virtual conference on 10th & 11th October 2020 and Dr D P Khaitan took charge as 4th President of CCDSI.
On advice of Dr D P Khaitan, the 4th President CCDSI, it was decided to publish Quarterly e-Bulletin on Cardiology, Diabetes, Hypertension and Nephrology.
The 1st e-Bulletin on Cardiology with Dr Ajay Kumar Sinha it’s Editor and Dr Dinanath Kumar as Associate Editor was published in December 2020. The 2nd e-Bulletin on Diabetes with Dr Madhukar Rai it’s Editor and Dr N K Singh Associate Editor was published in March 2021. The third e-Bulletin on Hypertension with Dr R Rajasekar it’s Editor and Dr Hemshanker Sharma as Associate Editor was published in July 2021. The 4th e-Bulletin on Nephrology with Dr Rajkamal Chaudhary it’s Editor and Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh as associate editor was released during 5th National Conference of CCDSI at Puri, Odisha by Dr Jayant Kumar Panda, the newly stalled 5th President of CCDSI. I am happy that it is continuing as scheduled and I hope, it will be a great success in future. Our website is having e-library in which educational materials like e- Bulletins and talks and lectures of senior faculties of CCDSI is uploaded. It is free to access for educational purpose.
Bihar & Jharkhand is the first State to establish its state Chapter in 2017 followed by Tamil Nadu. At present CCDSI is having State chapters of Odisha, Gujrat, and West Bengal also. Soon we are going to have state chapters of Delhi & NCR, Karnataka, and Rajasthan.
Clinical Cardio Diabetic Society of India (CCDSI) at it’s General Body meeting on 27th December, 2020 took unanimous decision to form its Academic wing Indian College of Cardiodiabetolgy and Metabolic Diseases (ICCMD).
It’s aim is to Educate and provide training to General Physicians in fields of Diabetes, Cardio-diabetology, Hypertension, Nephrology and Metabolic Diseases. Dr R. Rajsekar is the founder dean of the college and its Head Office is located at CCDSI Office, Gaya. ICCMD is going to start the diploma courses in diabetes, cardiology and echocardiography for eligible candidates in coming days.
On completion of 5 years of CCDSI we started Fellowship called “Fellow of Indian College of Cardiodiabetolgy and Metabolic Diseases” (FICCMD) from our 5th annual conference 2021 at Puri.
The Head Quarter Building was made within 5 years of its inception. It was Inaugurated on 3rd April 2022 jointly by Dr Jayant Kumar Panda, President CCDSI and Dr R Rajasekar, Dean ICCMD.
I hope that in near future CCDSI is going to be a great organisation of academic excellence.
